Books by Emily Henry

Let’s check out a few of the best books by Emily Henry.

Emily Henry is an author who has written many young adult novels and adult romance novels. She is probably best known for Beach Read or People We Meet on Vacation.

Maybe you have read those two books and loved them? I know I did, so maybe you’re here to see what else Emily Henry has to offer. The good news is that she has a few more great books that you can read!

Emily Henry’s first few books were young adult novels and are quite different from what you may be used to if you have read something like Beach Read. Of course, there is still her signature romance.

So, if you are looking for other books by Emily Henry to read, you’ve come to the right place.

Beach Read

Beach Read by Emily Henry

Beach Read was Emily Henry’s first adult fiction book and the first with widespread success. She published the book in 2020, and it is about 400 pages long.

Beach Read follows January Andrews, a romance author, who is spending the summer in her dad’s beach house trying to get over her writer’s block.

Little does she know, she moves in right next to her former college rival, Augustus Everett, a literary fiction writer who loves to kill off his characters. They are total opposites, and can’t help but compete.

After a few friendly spats, they strike up a deal – they will each write a book in the other’s genre. They’ll even take each other on their trips to do research. That means Augustus will experience a rom-com montage, and January will know how it feels to be a part of a cult.

Let’s just say some magic starts to happen on some of these trips.

Fun fact: Beach Read was recommended by YouTuber Haley Pham!

People We Meet on Vacation

People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry

People We Meet on Vacation was published by Emily Henry one year after Beach Read came out. This book was just as loved as the last. It is also 400 pages long.

People We Meet on Vacation is another romance novel where the two main characters are complete opposites.

In this one we have Poppy, a wild, spontaneous girl with a love of wanderlust, and we have Alex, a laid-back, introvert, who would rather just stay home and read.

They have been best friends since college, but they live far away from each other. She lives in New York City, while he chose to stay in their hometown. But, every year during the summer they take a week long vacation together.

This went on for a decade, until two years ago, everything got ruined, and they haven’t spoken since.

Poppy realizes that she hasn’t truly been happy since the last time she went on vacation with Alex, so she convinces him to go on one more vacation with her. Surprisingly he said yes, so she has one week to fix everything between them.

Emily Henry fun fact: She has sold over 2.4 million books collectively!

Book Lovers follows Nora Stephens who loves books. She’s literally read any and every book you could possibly think of. That makes her perfect for her job as a literary agent where she nails deals all day for her clients.

However, at home, she doesn’t have the same confidence. She wants to be like the heroines in her books, but she’s not like any of them. That won’t stop her from trying, though.

Nora decides to go to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina for a month on a vacation with her sister. She’s hoping she runs into someone special. And she does…

Only this isn’t the guy that she’s dreaming about. This guy is Charlie Lastra, a book editor from the city. Nora keeps coincidentally running into him over and over again, and none of these meetings are cute or lovely.

But, she just keeps running into him! This has to be a sign. And Nora begins to discover things about him that may even change her own story.

Happy Place

Happy Place by Emily Henry

Happy Place is Emily Henry’s most recent book. This book was released in April of 2023, and is considered one of the most anticipated books of 2023. It’s another Emily Henry signature 400 page book.

Happy Place follows Harriet and Wyn, the world’s most perfect couple. Everyone knows that they go together like peanut butter and jelly. Except five months ago they broke up for reasons they never talked about, and they still haven’t told their friends.

Every year for the last decade their friends have gotten together for yearly getaway. This year they’re all sharing a cottage in Maine, and guess who’s sharing a room because their friends don’t know they broke up? Harriet and Wyn.

That means instead of drinking wine, eating seafood, and soaking up the sun on the coast, they are now lying to their friend’s faces while trying to make it look like everything is going great.

They really don’t want to spoil this week for their friends especially because the cottage is going up for sale and this will be the last week they all share together in it. Let’s just see how this all goes for them. Something tells me it’ll surely be interesting.

When the Sky Fell on Splendor

When the Sky Fell on Splendor by Emily Henry

When the Sky Fell on Splendor is an earlier book by Emily Henry. She published this one back in 2019. It is around 352 pages. The difference between this and her more recent books is that this is more in the young adult genre.

When the Sky Fell on Splendor takes place in Splendor, Ohio, a small town affected by a major tragedy 5 years ago. The local steel mill exploded and left so many injured.

This is why seventeen year old Franny is sitting next to her brother, who has been in a coma since the day it happened.

Many people across the town have similar stories to Franny. They created a group where they can distract themselves from the tragedy around them. They call themselves The Ordinary, and they make videos on YouTube investigating ghost stories.

This is all fun and games until one strange evening something they film startles them immensely. It’s not just a ghost it’s a very bright light hurtling toward them at an incredible speed.

This mysterious object crashes nearby and they all go to investigate. That’s when things become really strange.

A Million Junes

A Million Junes by Emily Henry

A Million Junes is another early book by Emily Henry. This one was published back in 2017. And you guessed it! It’s 400 pages long.

A Million Junes follows Jack “June” O’Donnell, a 18-year-old girl living in her hometown of Five Fingers, Michigan.

Her family, the O’Donnell’s, have been in a century long feud with a rival family, the Angerts. Everyone in town knows about it and they have all made up mythical and wacky stories about why, but the two families know exactly why. It all started with a cherry tree.

June has been really good about avoiding the Angerts for her whole life, until one day their gruff, sarcastic son, Saul Angert, returns to town after being away for more than 3 years.

She finds herself running into him more often, and even catches eyes for him. Now, she’s questioning everything that’s ever happened between their two families.

Is it finally time for her family to make up with the Angerts?

Emily Henry fun fact: She grew up in Cincinnati with two older brothers.
